The Housemaid – Freida McFadden

A story of love and darkness, The Housemaid, sends twists your way that you will never see coming.

Millie has a questionable past that keeps her from being able to work a well-paying job. Or even a not-so-well-paying job. Any assignment. So when she gets the chance to work for a prestigious family, she jumps at the opportunity. Everything is not as it seems, though. As Nina Winchester becomes more and more outlandish, Millie can’t help but wonder what her husband sees in her. She will quickly find out.

The twist in this novel. A multifaceted character, you can’. Millie comes across as a little bratty. She seems whiny and young. She tries her best though.

I’m telling you, the revelation blew me out of my seat. I saw absolutely no foreshadowing, nothing to even hint at it. The suspenseful writing is so well done I read this book in a day.

I feel like the characters could have had a little more life to them. Maybe slightly more background for the Winchesters.

This is a wonderful thriller for anyone who enjoys a medium-paced novel with an extraordinary twist. I give it four out of five stars.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
