What do you wish for on your birthday?
Jordan and Cole moved into his father’s house after they have been evicted. Or well, Cole’s been evicted. Their relationship isn’t the best, but they’re trying to make it work. Bring Cole’s dad into the picture. He’s handsome, single, and settled. The farther apart Cole and Jordan grow, the closer she grows to his father. Maybe he can make her birthday wish come true.
It took me a few chapters to get into the story’s pace as I didn’t realize it was slow-paced. Once I figured that out, I loved it.
I didn’t expect such a significant twist so soon! Penelope Douglas certainly has a way of reeling you in from the very start. This novel was my first forbidden romance, and I loved every second of it. Pike Lawson is so dreamy it hurts! Douglas wrote to keep you from growing bored with the pace. You crave the backstory, the hidden thoughts and things you’re dying to see come to light.
If you enjoy a slow-burn, forbidden age gap, this is the story for you. It’s got sugar, spice, and some things not so nice. I give this story four out of five stars.
